I have just finished designing a website for the Maths Conference at our college. I enjoyed working on it.
The conference will run over two days – the first day geared toward students, the second day for maths faculty.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Technology in Mathematics Education” or T.I.M.E.
Faculty members around the world are asking questions about how new technologies can focus on better, innovative ways to serve students’ changing needs. The roughly shifting landscape of technology in Maths education makes it tough to keep up with change and innovation. At this conference, participants will learn how to stay ahead of the curve
Their will be two keynote speakers, Douglas Butler and Dr. Tony Rickards, who are able to expose our students to lively ways of looking at mathematics, as well as providing pedagogical insight to our faculty in ways to help our students to learn mathematics through technology.
There will be a number of workshops that will be held in the afternoon.
I shall be attending 'Integrating technology into your teaching using Internet resources' – by Dr. Tony Rickards
'Effectively integrating instructional design and learning technologies within a Mathematics Foundations WebCT course' - David Moran.
I will post my views about these sessions after I attend them.
